Lecture Series Continues – 2022! “Comstock History from 1930-1960” by Joe Curtis & Ron Gallagher

We are pleased to continue the 2022 Lecture Series!

Thursday, August 4th lecture will be Joe Curtis & Ron Gallagher on: “Comstock History from 1930-1960 Part 2”

Dinner starts at 4:30 p.m. and lecture starts at 7:00 p.m.

Joe and Ron are back by popular demand. This exciting lecture will give you a presentation and photos of the Comstock from the 1930’s up to the 1960’s.  The Ron and Joe Show will be featuring a more modern era of Comstock History dating from the 1930’s to 1960s; It was an interesting period predating the advent of the Bonanza TV series which opened the renaissance of modern Virginia City tourism.

Early businesses, periods of no business, the Beebe & Clegg times, making up stories of ghosts and the myth of cowboys on the Comstock.

Including plenty of photos of that period.  Even though this is a stand alone presentation, Joe and Ron will have all new content so if you were present at Part 1, you don’t want to miss the continuation!

Bio: Joe Curtis
Joe’s family moved to VC in 1958.  They bought a building and opened a museum dedicated to the history of life on the Comstock.  He grew up amidst the museum and became infatuated with the history of the Comstock and began collecting old photos of the area back in the day.

Bio: Ron Gallagher
Ron is a well know local aged artifact of the Comstock.  Raised here, lots of relatives dating well into the lower 1800’s and a head full of Comstock knowledge, recollections. stories and other associated Comstock BS.

Lecture starts at 7:00 p.m. and costs $10 per person.

Come early and enjoy dinner before the lecture! We Serve dinner before the lecture at 4:30, 5:00, & 5:30 p.m.
