We are pleased to continue our 2021 Lecture Series!
Thursday, July 1st lecture will be Stanley Paher’s lecture on: “Nevada Ghost Towns & Mining Camps and other interesting Desert destinations”
Dinner starts at 4:30 p.m. and lecture starts at 7:00 p.m.
Stanley Paher is the author of Nevada Ghost Towns & Mining Camps, which since its publication in 1970 has sold 68,800 copies. Recently Paher followed up his award-winning book with a companion Desert Atlas which features about 1,800 destination points throughout Nevada and eastern California all located on 71 color maps.
Paher’s powerpoint show will draw from these books as well as from his collection of unpublished photos. His voice-over presentation of about 40 minutes will conclude with a question and answer session.
Native Nevadan Stanley Paher is owner of Nevada Publications which in 51 years has published 114 books by 53 different authors. Ever since his years at Las Vegas High School, he has explored desert areas throughout the Southwest through hiking, jeeping and camping. In 1982 he moved permanently to Reno in an effort to retire but admits he has not done a very good job of it. Currently he continues to publish books and search for paper items including stock certificates, “dead” post office cancellations, and out of print Nevada books.
Lecture starts at 7:00 p.m. and costs $10 per person.
Come early and enjoy dinner before the lecture! We Serve dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
