Just image!! It was August 1960 when Hollywood’s favorite stars, Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, Montgomery Clift, Eli Wallach and Thelma Ritter arrived in Dayton, Nevada to film the “The Misfits” directed by Hollywood notables: director, John Huston, producer, Frank Taylor and Arthur Miller, Marilyn’s husband then, who wrote the movie script specifically for her performance.

See photographs and learn why the movie was primarily filmed in Dayton, about little known details of what really went on behind the scenes and stories of how the residents of the small historic town of Dayton reacted to having Hollywood’s’ most rich and famous shooting live movie scenes on their streets and at the 1860’s Odeon Saloon & Billiard Parlor on Pike Street, a building that had not been open for business since 1941.
