Kim Harris continues the 2023 Gold Hill Hotel lecture and entertainment series Thursday night September 21st at the Gold Hill Hotel!  She will be doing a Chautauqua performance as Wild Horse Annie!  Lecture starts at 7 p.m.

“Wild Horse Annie” (Bio):

In 1950, Velma Bronn Johnston, a shy Nevada ranch wife and secretary, came upon a horse trailer leaking blood. When she discovered the destination of the trailer and its occupants – a trio of terrified and badly injured wild horses – she launched a crusade that eventually reached the halls of Congress and forever changed the way America treats the mustangs and burros that roam free on public lands.

Velma will share with you how she came to embrace the intended slur “Wild Horse Annie”, and how she inspired a nation of horse lovers to get behind her fight to save the wild mustangs from extinction.
