Kim Harris kicks off the 2025 Gold Hill Hotel lecture and entertainment series Thursday night March 27th at the Gold Hill Hotel!  She will be doing a Chautauqua performance as Caroline “Cad” Thompson!  Lecture starts at 7 p.m.

Caroline “Cad” Thompson (Bio):

She owned the grandest “Parlor House” in Virginia City, NV during the early days of the Comstock Lode. Caroline “Cad” Thompson was born Sarah Hagen in Ireland, in 1827.

She came to the Comstock a shrewd businesswoman, determined to capitalize on the lustful miners’ need for women. She was beloved by her “girls” and had a raucous sense of humor.

Take a moment or two to listen to some tales of her times on the Comstock, and what it was like to walk in the steps of Mark Twain and the reporters of the Territorial Enterprise Newspaper. Cad’s girls were the best girls on the row!
