DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to continue our 2018 Lecture Series with the Comstock Foundation for History and Culture! \nThursday\, July 19th lecture will be Paul Franklin’s “Anatomy of an Ingot” \nDinner starts at 5:30 p.m. and lecture starts at 7:00 p.m. \nLecture Description: \nFollow an investigation of a mysterious ingot and the three mining engineers and assayers on a journey that takes you back to the early mining days of the West.\nTheir careers\, spanning the second half of the 19th century\, intersected much of the early mining history in California and the territories of Arizona and Nevada in addition to meeting some of the important figures of the period. \nBio of Lecturer: \nPaul Franklin has been an executive in the semiconductor industry for over 45 years.  Now retired\, he still consults\, splitting his time between several start-ups and his passion\, Western Americana History\, especially researching mining and its technology in the west. \nFollowing his Western Americana passion\, he has published articles in professional journals\, been a guest lecturer at UNR and appeared on the local TV program: Old tales of Nevada: Past and Present. \nHe recently published his first book\, Anatomy of an Ingot\, which follows the careers of three mining engineers and assayers who figured significantly in Nevada’s early silver mining boom. \nPlease see the sign up form below to make reservations for this exciting lecture!  This lecture might very well sell out!\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nName:\n\n\n\nEmail Address:\n\n\n\nDinner and Lecture or Lecture only?\n Dinner and Lecture\n Lecture only\n\n\nHow many in your party?\n\n\n\nIf you are coming to the dinner and lecture\, what time would you like to dine with us?\n 5:00 p.m.\n 6:00 p.m.
