SUMMARY:Lecture tonight! Pam Abercrombie – The History of Nevada Indian Tribes: The Numu\, Newe\, Nuwu\, and Wa She Shu
DESCRIPTION:Pamela Abercrombie continues our lecture series tonight with a talk about the History of Nevada Indian Tribes:  The Numu\, Newe\, Nuwu\, and Wa She Shu. \nPam will be giving an overview of the American Indians across the nation and the indigenous tribes of Nevada. Focus will be on the Northern Paiute\, including the lands of the Comstock and surrounding areas as far as the California/Nevada border to the west.  \nPam Abercrombie\, before coming to the Comstock\, worked on a rural Nevada Indian Tribe reservation  for about eight years. Her love for history led her down a path of research on the indigenous people of Nevada. She spent three years studying our local tribes\, in addition to federal/tribal relations and tribal nations across the United States\, learning from non cross-cultural resources; therefore gaining knowledge from the American Indian’s perspective on North America and the United States.  \n  \nDiscover the history\, interesting facts and information about the way of life of the Nevada Indians before the arrival of the white European settlers and colonists. \nPamela Abercrombie is the Executive Director of the Comstock Historical Foundation. She has developed a career in the nonprofit field the past 14 years\, serving youth and families. She began as a program coordinator for a youth-serving organization in Dayton\, transitioned to the Education Director for the Yerington Paiute Tribe where she became a self-taught administrator\, and then after earning a Master’s in Public Administration fell in love with Virginia City and tourism. With an undergrad in history from the University of Nevada\, Reno and a passion for history\, becoming the director for the Foundation is a perfect fit. \nNovember 2nd at 7:00 PM.  It will be an exciting evening!  See sign up form below: \nPlease note that we have only 50 total seats for people to see the lecture.  Due to the crazy interest in the lecture series\, and the fact that we are selling out each week\, we will have to closely monitor the sign ups for this lecture series. \nThere are 30 spots available for people attending dinner and the lecture.\nThere are 20 spots available for the lecture only.\nPriority goes to those who chose the dinner and the lecture.  \n\nDinner reservations are at: 5:00 p.m.\, 5:15\, 5:30\, 5:45\, & 6:00 p.m.  We will let you know if we will need to revise your reservation time due to diner volume.\n\nPlease use this form to sign up:\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nName:\n\n\n\nEmail Address:\n\n\n\nDinner and Lecture?
