DESCRIPTION:Thursday night at the Gold Hill Hotel.  Lecture starts at 7 p.m.  Dayton was Nevada’s first Chinatown\, circa 1858 – 1861. Learn why the Chinese ended up in Nevada\, how and where they lived and more. Old newspaper articles have helped tell the story.  This is the fascinating story about one of Nevada’s earliest cultures at its best. \nLaura Tennant is a native of Silver City\, Nevada and was primarily educated in Nevada one-room schoolhouses. Laura served as manager-editor of the Dayton Courier-Fernley Leader newspaper for 18 years\, where she was also a reporter\, columnist and photographer. She currently writes columns for the Leader-Courier-Mason Valley News and Comstock Chronicle and VC News and is the published author of the book\, “Dayton: Images of America\,” of which\, all proceeds go to the Historical Society of Dayton Valley. \nPlease note that we have only 50 total seats for people to see the lecture.  Due to the crazy interest in the lecture series\, and the fact that we are selling out each week\, we will have to closely monitor the sign ups for this lecture series. \nThere are 30 spots available for people attending dinner and the lecture.\nThere are 20 spots available for the lecture only.\nPriority goes to those who chose the dinner and the lecture.  \n\nDinner reservations are at: 5:00 p.m.\, 5:15\, 5:30\, 5:45\, & 6:00 p.m.  We will let you know if we will need to revise your reservation time to due to diner volume.\n\nPlease use this form to sign up:\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nName:\n\n\n\nEmail Address:\n\n\n\nDinner and Lecture?
