DESCRIPTION:Lecture subject:  Settling of the West: Public Lands and the U.S. Homestead Acts \nStony Tennant began collecting Dayton historical artifacts when he settled here at the old Sutro Tunnel site in the early 1960s.  During those years\, he also cowboyed and mined throughout northern Nevada.  Tennant is a charter member of the Historical Society of Dayton Valley and is a lost-art blacksmith\, a collector of historic Dayton farm and mining tools and a local Native American historian.  The owner/operator of Tennant Construction\, general engineering and building contractor\, for 40 years\, Tennant served on the Lyon County Planning Commission 10 years and volunteered for numerous Dayton community projects and events\, including the construction of the Dayton Valley Events Center\, restoring the Carson & Colorado Railroad Depot and Dayton 4-H Community Club. He also served six years with the United States Marine Corps and is a Vietnam Veteran \nPlease note that we have only 50 total seats for people to see the lecture.  Due to the crazy interest in the lecture series\, and the fact that we are selling out each week\, we will have to closely monitor the sign ups for this lecture series. \nThere are 30 spots available for people attending dinner and the lecture.\nThere are 20 spots available for the lecture only.\nPriority goes to those who chose the dinner and the lecture.  \n\nDinner reservations are at: 5:00 p.m.\, 5:15\, 5:30\, 5:45\, & 6:00 p.m.  We will let you know if we will need to revise your reservation time to due to diner volume.\n\nPlease use this form to sign up:\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nName:\n\n\n\nEmail Address:\n\n\n\nDinner and Lecture?
