2022 Lecture/ Entertainment Series Continues! “Nevada Vigilance Committee 1858-1887 Part 1″ by Gus Fincel – Special Guest David John!

Lecture Notes:

The presenter of this lecture, Gus Fincel, is a member of the historical community services non-profit organization, known as “601 Vigilance Committee” in Virginia City. He will be sharing some insights in his lecture on the historical perspectives of the Vigilance Committees of the Nevada Territory as well as the State of Nevada after statehood. Gus has been a member of the “601” since 2009, served as compliance officer for six years and three terms as Chairman. His insights into the history of Vigilance Committees of Nevada is unique, thought provoking and an exciting trek though local history.

Joining Gus with various solo musical complements is David John.  David is a musician, song writer, and owner of Aztec Records.  With extensive experience in the music industry as a song writer in Nashville and Los Angles, he has performed for over 40 years.

His classic western songs about the American West and Westward expansion in the 81850’s will definitely add to the evenings enjoyment.

Bio:  

A U.S Marine veteran, 35 years in law enforcement veteran, Gus held previous positions as an Deputy Sheriff, Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief and Deputy Chief as a Division Commander. He was a founding member of the California Peace Officers Killing and Assault Task force at the Peace Officer Standards and Training for the State of California. Gus is a Nationally recognized expert witness for State and Federal courts involving police policies, procedures, weapons and officer safety tactics.

He has over 43 books, numerous archived newspaper articles and manuscripts dating back to the 1850’s involving the history of Nevada and the American Western expansion of the era including the Comstock.

Lecture starts at 7:00 p.m. and costs $10 per person.
