Lecture Series Continues – Thursday, July 21st with Lackey’s “Nevada Black Bears”

We are pleased to continue the 2022 Lecture Series!

Dinner starts at 4:30 p.m. and lecture starts at 7:00 p.m.

Carl Lackey, a wildlife biologist with Nevada Department of Wildlife, has been studying bears since 1997. He will present the recent history of black bears in the state and the current conservation of the species.

Black bears have been in Nevada long before we lived here, but by the early 1900s they had been exterminated from the state. Conservation efforts and habitat regeneration allowed black bears to begin coming back into Nevada and reinhabit their old stomping grounds.  Carl will give us a unique perspective on the current state of the black bears in Nevada and the efforts being made to prevent us from repeating the past!

Lecture starts at 7:00 p.m. and costs $10 per person.

Come early and enjoy dinner before the lecture! We Serve dinner before the lecture at 4:30, 5:00, & 5:30 p.m.
