We are pleased to continue our 2018 Lecture Series with the Comstock Foundation for History and Culture!

This year, we will be holding the lecture series on the First & Third Thursday’s of the month – each month – until November 15th

Thursday, April 19th lecture will be: “Major Ormsby and the Creation of the Nevada Territory”

Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. and lecture starts at 7:00 p.m.

Major William Ormsby played the pivotal role in the creation of the Nevada Territory. His dramatic, violent and entertaining story has been fully researched and written about by CW Bayer who will present this talk. His long book, “Profit, Plots and Lynching, the creation of Nevada Territory” as well as his shorter summary book “Dreaming Up Nevada Territory, the story of William Ormsby” will be available at the talk. CW has been writing histories and songs about Nevada for over four decades—performing and presenting all over the state.

Lecture starts at 7:00 p.m. and costs $5 per person.
