Lecture Series Continues – Thursday, April 18th! “Hucksters and Bohos and Hippies, Oh My!” by Bert Bedeau

We are pleased to continue the 2019 Lecture Series with the Comstock Foundation for History and Culture

Please note this lecture WILL NOT be at the Gold Hill Hotel.
It will be at the:  Comstock History Center
20 North “E” Street
Virginia City, NV  89440

Lecture starts at 7:00 p.m.

Most people are familiar with the 19th century story of the Comstock–silver strikes, miners, Mark Twain, John Mackey, bonanza and borracsa!  But there is more to the story. How did a dying mining town of a few hundred souls change into the tourist mecca that we know today?

The tale is as fascinating as the stories of mining glory. Come hear about Hucksters and Bohos and Hippies, Oh My! As told by your friendly neighborhood preservation bureaucrat Bert Bedeau.

Bio:  Presented by Michael A. “Bert” Bedeau who has served as the District Administrator for the Comstock Historic District Commission in Virginia City since 1999.  Previously he worked for the State Historic Preservation offices in Idaho and South Dakota.  He holds a BA in History from Occidental College and an MA in Historic Preservation Studies from Boston University.

Lecture starts at 7:00 p.m. and costs $5 per person.
