2020 Lecture/ Entertainment Series Continues! – Thursday, October 1st, Greg Hess with “Comstock Water System, Past, Present, & Future” Joe Curtis will help with the slides
Dinner starts at 5:00 p.m. and lecture starts at 7:00 p.m. – $10 fore lecture
** We will be limiting the sign ups to no more than 30 people and we will use “social distancing” in the Great Room in order to be safe for this lecture. **
Lecture Description: An examination of the Comstock Water System, Past, Present, & Future. How it got started, why it became an engineering marvel, and what holds for the water systems future. But, wait, there’s more….cool slides from Joe Curtis!
Bio – Greg Hess was born and raised in Virginia City. As a kid he lived for a number of years in Gold Hill. He has had a career as an underground miner. His father was a Comstock miner before him. Greg owns some mining claims, was a registered Surveyor and did work all around the County. He Served on several county boards. After retiring as a surveyor he spends a lot of time hunting around Nevada and serves on the County Wildlife Board. I think that relates to wild animals, not partying. Greg Sr., as he is known around town, Is married to his high school sweetheart, Joyce, and they have two sons and a bunch of grand and great grand kids. Greg has spent many years exploring the back country of Storey County and researching and dealing with the County Water system.
Lecture starts at 7:00 p.m. and costs $10 per person.
